SAMPAŞ represents Turkey in the social network-based augmented reality project CRUMBS, supported by the European CELTIC Research and Development Programme. The project is expected to form the basis for many e-Commerce, e-Tourism and e-Government applications that will improve user experience.
According to a new study - this year alone - the number of people using their mobile devices to access social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) has reached 800 million worldwide. Taking this trend that is increasingly felt in our daily lives, the CRUMBS project aims to create an augmented reality platform that collects, organizes and serves location-based user content through a social network structure.
CRUMBS platform; It is designed to function as a gateway between rich multimedia content created on a mobile social network and fixed at different times in different geographical coordinates, and the outside world perceived by the cameras of mobile devices in real time. Through this platform, users will be able to interact with their location, access relevant memories, and scan retrospective content in various formats by accessing social media content crumbs (CRUMBS) created at any time, specific to the relevant coordinate, by using an advanced application installed on their mobile devices, at a physical coordinate. .
A user with the CRUMBS application installed on his mobile device will be able to access all social content related to the object or structure he points his mobile device at, and scan retrospective multi-media content while wandering around any point of interest (museum, palace, etc.). CRUMB content will present to users all the data on the internet about the object in question and all the social content previously created around this object in 360 degrees.
SAMPAŞ A.Ş. from Turkey participated in the project, the results of which will be tested on various real-world scenarios. Participates with the support of TÜBİTAK. The project, which will continue for another fourteen months, is expected to create usage areas that will improve the interaction between individual individuals, institutions and physical spaces (public buildings, museums, ruins, etc.) in the fields of e-Commerce, e-Tourism and e-Government.
The project, supported by the European Union CELTIC Research and Development Programme, is expected to end on May 1, 2013.
