In the "Smart Cities" competition organized by We-GO, chaired by Seoul Mayor Won Soon Park, in the categories of service, efficiency, developing city, city management and digital sharing, the Urban Information System project prepared by Malatya Municipality in cooperation with SAMPAŞ was selected for the "city management" category. was deemed worthy of an award in its category.
Malatya Municipality from Turkey also received an award in the competition, while local governments from Canada, Finland, Spain, South Korea and Taiwan were deemed worthy of awards in other categories.
Deputy Mayor Mehmet Fatih Güven attended the award ceremony of the competition held in Barcelona, Spain, on behalf of Malatya Municipality. Malatya Municipality's award was given by Seoul Mayor Won Soon Park and Barcelona Mayor Xavier Trıas at the ceremony where Barcelona Consul General Haldun Koç was also present.
